UNC football’s Top 5 2017 NFL Draft Prospects
With the college football season now in the rear view mirror, college football fans can turn their attention to the preparation for the NFL Draft. With the combine three months away, there is plenty of time for NFL prospects to make a name for themselves. Now, we will examine UNC’s top 5 prospects for the draft.
1. Mitch Trubisky QB
Projected: 1st round
Position Rank: 1
The top QB in the draft according to many experts, Trubisky will be in play for the first overall pick.
2. Nazair Jones DT
Projected: 3-4th round
Position Rank: 12
Jones was a third-team All-ACC selection and should hear his name called on Day 2.
3. Ryan Switzer WR
Projected: 4-5th round
Position Rank: 22
One of the most electrifying return man in NCAA history, Switzer could set the NFL combine record for the 20-yard shuttle.
4. Des Lawrence CB
Projected: 6th round
Position Rank: 26
Lawrence is ranked behind 25 other cornerbacks, but ProFootballFocus thinks Lawrence might’ve been a member of the best secondary in college football
5. Jon Heck OT
Projected: 7th round-Free Agency
Position Rank: 21st
Heck is a player that could benefit from a strong performance at his pro day, but he should find himself drafted in a late round or signed to a free agent deal.
